Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly agreed to a huge five-year deal worth £3,50,000-a-week with Manchester United according to the Express. The 24-year-old will earn a staggering £90m in wages over those five years which if true is something of a coup for a player who earns one fourth of the amount currently at Real Madrid.
However, as reported earlier the Los Blancos are playing hardball over the Spaniard's transfer fee with president Florentino Perez wanting the fee to mirror that of the £90m that he is set to earn in wages.
The La Liga champions want to ensure that they make a huge profit on a player who they bought back from Juventus for just £26m last summer, with Perez confident that he can get United to pay a huge amount for him considering they were willing to pay Atletico Madrid in excess of £100m for Antoine Griezmann before he committed his future to the Spanish club.
Real recently rebuffed a £65m bid for Morata from the Red Devils with the report claiming that should they agree to pay a world-record £90m for the striker it would mean they would need to pay a whooping £180m to broker a deal for Morata.
While there is no doubt that Morata is a hugely talented striker, £180m is a lot of money to pay for someone who is second choice at Real Madrid and is yet to shine on the big stage.
